Liquid CO2 supplies remain tight. Ongoing problems at the Orica plant in Newcastle and the plant upgrade at the Victorian plant Lang Lang, have seen liquid CO2 supplies reach dire levels across the East Coast of Australia. Producers of many common food and beverage products have felt the squeeze including Coca Cola, and Tooheys. Companies that require dry ice for production are also being rationed, causing many flow-on problems down the supply chain. Some companies are taking the extraordinary steps of importing the raw material from international sources to ensure continued supply.
